About Us

I started working with wood as a small child.  I was lucky enough to have 2 Grandfathers who taught me how to use tools and started to build things on my own.  Fast forward about 40 years, and I'm still building 'stuff'. 

My wife, Olivia Golden, needed a new Wall Box for the horse show.  We didn't want to wait a year, or buy something "too nice" to use.  We also didn't want a cheaply produced Wall Box that we knew we would need to replace quickly with how 'the guys' abuse stuff.  So, I built 1.  It got shared on social media, I started getting orders.  A bunch of orders...so I created...Matt's Fancy Barn Stuff.   Couple months later, I hired a furniture and cabinet builder, John.  He's a wood working wizard and pops up in some pictures on FaceBook from time to time.  Also rented a cabinet shop along the way.   The combination of surrounding myself with people who have more skills than me and getting a work shop with all professional tools has enabled us to put out some amazing products.
